Terms of service
These terms govern the use of Living Sermon, a service operated by Cogniz AI (Pty) Ltd, trading as Living Sermon ("we", "us", "our"). By subscribing to or using the service, you ("you", "the church", "the subscriber") agree to these terms.

1. What the service is
Living Sermon turns a sermon a church has already preached into an interactive walk people can read, ask questions of, and revisit through the week. An assistant drafts the walk from the material you provide; a person you designate reviews and approves it; nothing is published until they do. This human approval step is central to the service and is not optional.
2. Your account and your leaders
You are responsible for the accounts you and your leaders use, for keeping login details safe, and for what is published under your account. You must give accurate information and keep it current. You may not share access with people outside your church or organisation without our agreement.
3. Your content and who owns it
The sermons and material you provide, and the walks approved and published from them, remain yours. You grant us the permission needed to host, process, draft from, and display that material to run the service. You confirm you have the right to provide the material, including any recording of a person speaking, and that publishing it does not break anyone else's rights.
4. The assistant, and your responsibility for what is published
The assistant drafts and it can be wrong. That is exactly why a person approves every walk before it goes live, and why the "Ask this sermon" assistant answers only from the approved material and says so when it does not know. Because you approve what is published, you are responsible for the published content. We do not warrant that a draft is free of error; we provide the tools and the discipline that let you catch and correct it before it is public.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to publish unlawful, hateful or infringing content, to attempt to break its security or trust model, to misrepresent whose words a walk contains, or to collect personal information from congregants beyond what the service is designed for. We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these terms.
6. Personal information
Where your congregation's personal information is processed through the service (for example prayer requests), you are the responsible party and we act as your operator under POPIA. You agree to have a lawful basis for what you collect, to tell your congregation how their information is used, and to handle prayer requests and similar details with care. Our privacy policy sets out the detail, and we will enter a data processing agreement with you where one is needed.
7. Fees and payment
Fees for the plan you choose are agreed with you and, where taken online, are processed by Paystack. Subscriptions are billed in advance for each period (monthly or annual, as agreed). Unless stated otherwise, fees are in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. You authorise the recurring charge for as long as the subscription is active. If a payment fails, we may suspend the service until it is settled.
8. Cancellation, suspension and termination
You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, as set out in the refund policy. We may suspend or end the service for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, for non-payment, or if required by law, and will give reasonable notice where we can. On termination, your published walks stop being served; we will, on request within a reasonable window, help you export your own content.
9. Availability
We work to keep the service running and reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance and make changes to improve it. We are early, and we will be honest about what does and does not yet exist.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and our total liability to you for any claim connected to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will make material changes clear, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction. We will always try to resolve a concern with you directly first. Reach us through our contact form (or hello@livingsermon.online).
